US mechanical tubing imports up 22.3 percent in January

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of mechanical tubing totaled 29,169 mt in January 2023, up 22.3 percent from December and up 22.4 percent from January 2022 levels. By value, mechanical tubing imports totaled $47.9 million in January 2023, compared to $41.4 million in December and $51.1 million in January 2022.

The US imported the most mechanical tubing from Mexico in January, with 15,841 mt, compared to 20,285 mt in December and 13,373 in January 2022. Other top sources of imported mechanical tubing in January include Canada, with 9,618 mt.
