According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of mechanical tubing totaled 45,457 mt in October 2019, up 12.8 percent from September and up 1.8 percent from October 2018 levels. By value, mechanical tubing imports totaled $59.6 million in October 2019, compared to $56.3 million in the previous month and $66.4 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most mechanical tubing from Mexico in October, with 20,265 mt, compared to 15,538 mt in September and 8,148 mt in October 2018. Other top sources of imported mechanical tubing in October include Canada, with 9,298 mt; Germany, with 3,669 mt; Vietnam, with 2,394 mt; and China, with 1,691 mt.
