US mechanical tubing imports up 0.4 percent in November

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of mechanical tubing totaled 45,626 mt in November 2019, up 0.4 percent from October but down 9.0 percent from November 2018 levels. By value, mechanical tubing imports totaled $70.1 million in November 2019, compared to $59.6 million in the previous month and $72.1 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most mechanical tubing from Mexico in November, with 16,584 mt, compared to 20,265 mt in October and 8,466 mt in November 2018. Other top sources of imported mechanical tubing in November include Canada, with 8,137 mt; Germany, with 3,915 mt; Romania, with 2,850 mt; and Japan, with 2,293 mt.
