US HRC exports up 56.2 percent in October

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 50,262 mt in October 2018, up 56.2 percent from September but down 32.2 percent from October 2017 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $47.6 million in October, compared to $30.7 million in the previous month and $55.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in October with 37,659 mt, compared to 19,414 mt in September and 51,440 mt in October 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 13,200 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in October.
