US HRC exports up 13.2 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 96,738 mt in September, up 13.2 percent from August and up 34.4 percent from September 2016 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $69.6 million in September, compared to $59.7 million in the previous month and $53.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in September with 61,407 mt, compared to 64,501 mt in August and 35,136 mt in September 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 35,073 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US HRC exports in September.
