US HRC exports rise 24.3 percent in March

US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 76,186 mt in March, up 24.3 percent from February and up 56.5 percent from March 2016 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $55.1 million in March, compared to $44.0 million in the previous month and $33.8 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in March, with 47,374 mt, compared to 36,619 mt in February and 27,956 mt in March 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 28,607 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in March.
