US HRC exports rise 22.9 percent in August

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 85,443 mt in August, up 22.9 percent from July and up 41.2 percent from August 2016 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $59.7 million in August, compared to $47.4 million in the previous month and $44.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in August with 64,501 mt, compared to 45,186 mt in July and 39,526 mt in August 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 20,701 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US HRC exports in August.
