US HRC exports rise 19.5 percent in January

US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 69,852 mt in January, up 19.5 percent from December and up 28.5 percent from January 2016 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $48.5 million in January, compared to $41.5 million in the previous month and $38.5 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in January, with 43,692 mt, compared to 40,421 mt in December and 35,314 mt in January 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 25,896 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US HRC exports in January.
