US HRC exports fall 3.3 percent in April

US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 73,685 mt in April, down 3.3 percent from March but up 47.2 percent from April 2016 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $56.2 million in April, compared to $55.1 million in the previous month and $35.0 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in April, with 40,562 mt, compared to 47,374 mt in March and 27,990 mt in April 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 32,867 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US HRC exports in April.
