US HRC exports down 23.3 percent in October

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 74,167 mt in October, down 23.3 percent from September but up 19.9 percent from October 2016 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $55.4 million in October, compared to $69.6 million in the previous month and $44.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in October with 51,440 mt, compared to 61,407 mt in September and 31,986 mt in October 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 22,049 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export HRC in October.
