US HRC exports down 10.1 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 42,152 mt in September 2019, down 10.1 percent from August but up 30.9 percent from September 2018 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $36.8 million in September, compared to $41.7 million in the previous month and $30.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in September with 30,912 mt, compared to 33,541 mt in August and 19,414 mt in September 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 10,716 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in September.
