US hot rolled bar exports up 32.6 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled bar totaled 60,909 mt in June 2018, up 32.6 percent from May and up 38.8 percent from June 2017 levels. By value, hot rolled bar exports totaled $67.7 million in June, compared to $52.3 million in the previous month and $43.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most hot rolled bar to Canada in June with 37,765 mt, compared to 24,379 mt in May and 20,401 mt in June 2017. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 21,292 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US hot rolled bar exports in June.
