According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip totaled 101,116 mt in October 2019, up 10.1 percent from September and up 1.8 percent from October 2018 levels. By value, HDG exports totaled $119.3 million in October, compared to $103.5 million in the previous month and $111.8 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in October with 57,108 mt, compared to 57,663 mt in September and 59,758 mt in October 2018. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 42,616 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in October.
