According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip totaled 106,992 mt in June 2018, down 7.6 percent from May and down 5.1 percent from June 2017 levels. By value, HDG exports totaled $117.9 million in June, compared to $124.5 million in the previous month and $115.7 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in June with 64,010 mt, compared to 63,155 mt in May and 59,731 mt in June 2017. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 40,955 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in June.
