US HDG exports down 3.4 percent in November

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip totaled 96,041 mt in November 2018, down 3.4 percent from October but down 10.9 percent from November 2017 levels. By value, HDG exports totaled $107.5 million in November, compared to $111.8 million in the previous month and $110.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in November with 52,872 mt, compared to 59,758 mt in October and 62,369 mt in November 2017. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 40,008 mt; and Italy, with 1,738 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in November.
