According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip totaled 103,629 mt in June 2019, down 1.8 percent from May and down 3.1 percent from June 2018 levels. By value, HDG exports totaled $118.3 million in June, compared to $120.5 million in the previous month and $117.9 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in June with 56,681 mt, compared to 59,057 mt in May and 64,010 mt in June 2018. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 44,144 mt; and Italy, with 1,325 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in June.
