US HDG exports down 10.7 percent in February

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip totaled 102,559 mt in February 2019, down 10.7 percent from January and up 9.6 percent from February 2018 levels. By value, HDG exports totaled $114.9 million in February, compared to $129.8 million in the previous month and $97.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in February with 53,978 mt, compared to 66,576 mt in January and 55,099 mt in February 2018. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 47,540 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in February.
