US drawn wire exports up 18.6 percent in August

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of drawn wire totaled 7,161 mt in August 2018, up 18.6 percent from July but down 20.6 percent from August 2017 levels. By value, drawn wire exports totaled $15.9 million in August, compared to $13.3 million in the previous month and $16.8 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most drawn wire to Mexico in August with 3,096 mt, compared to 2,390 mt in July and 3,164 mt in August 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 2,570 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US drawn wire exports in August.
