US drawn wire exports up 1.3 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of drawn wire totaled 5,599 mt in March 2019, up 1.3 percent from February but down 29.9 percent from March 2018 levels. By value, drawn wire exports totaled $13.3 million in March, compared to $12.9 million in the previous month and $16.0 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most drawn wire to Mexico in March with 2,452 mt, compared to 2,452 mt in February and 2,305 mt in March 2018. Other destinations included Canada, with 1,936 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export drawn wire in March.
