According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of drawn wire totaled 5,681 mt in May 2019, up 1.0 percent from April but down 28.9 percent from May 2018 levels. By value, drawn wire exports totaled $14.3 million in May, compared to $12.9 million in the previous month and $16.0 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most drawn wire to Mexico in May with 2,355 mt, compared to 2,930 mt in April and 2,869 mt in May 2018. Other destinations include Canada, with 1,910 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export drawn wire in May.
