According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of drawn wire totaled 9,024 mt in August, up 28.2 percent from July and up 2.4 percent from August 2016 levels. By value, drawn wire exports totaled $16.8 million in August, compared to $13.9 million in the previous month and $17.7 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most drawn wire to Canada in August with 3,661 mt, compared to 2,970 mt in July and 3,772 mt in August 2016. Other destinations include Mexico, with 3,164 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) of US export drawn wire in August.
