The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has partially rescinded the antidumping (AD) duty administrative review on certain corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products from South Korea, effective from April 14, 2009.
On September 30, 2008, the DOC published the notice of initiation of this AD duty administrative review with respect to Dongbu Steel Co., Ltd., Dongkuk Industries Co., Ltd. (Dongkuk), Haewon MSC Co., Ltd., Hyundai HYSCO, LG Chem, Ltd., Pohang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd/Pohang Coated Steel Co., Ltd., and Union Steel Manufacturing Co., Ltd, for the period August 1, 2007, through July 31, 2008.
On October 20, 2008, Dongkuk submitted a letter to the DOC stating that it had no shipments of the subject merchandise to the US during the period of review. The DOC corroborated the claim of no shipments by Dongkuk.
Therefore, the DOC has preliminarily determined that the review in relation to Dongkuk should be rescinded. However, the review in question will remain in effect for all the other companies.
