On December 3, 2001, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) imposed an antidumping duty order on hot rolled carbon steel flat products imported from India.

On February 2, 2007, the DOC initiated an antidumping administrative review for hot rolled carbon steel flat products imported from Indian producers/exporters Essar, Ispat, Tata and JSW, covering the period December 1, 2005, through November 30, 2006.

The DOC has preliminary determined that during the period of review, JSW made sales of the subject merchandise at less than normal value and that Ispat, Tata, and Essar did not make sales of the subject merchandise at less than normal value.

Accordingly, the preliminary dumping margins for the above-mentioned Indian producers are as follows:

Producer/Exporter

Margin

Ispat

0.00 percent

Tata

0.24 percent

JSW

37.01 percent

Essar

0.00 percent

Interested parties are required to submit their comments on these preliminary results.
