The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has issued its final results of the changed circumstances review of the antidumping duty order on steel wire garment hangers from China, and its decision to revoke the order in part.
On March 19, 2009, the DOC published in the Federal Register a notice of initiation and the preliminary results of the antidumping duty changed circumstances review with intent to revoke, in part, the antidumping duty order with regard to the merchandise meeting the criteria: chrome-plated steel wire garment hangers with a diameter of 3.4 mm or greater.
The DOC has now decided to revoke the subject order, in part, with regard to the product in question, i.e., chrome-plated steel wire garment hangers with a diameter of 3.4 mm or greater. Effective upon publication of these final results of changed circumstances review in the Federal Register on October 2, 2009, the scope of the order has been amended. Specifically excluded from the scope of the order are wooden, plastic and other garment hangers that are not made of steel wire, also excluded from the scope of the order are chrome-plated steel wire garment hangers with a diameter of 3.4 mm or greater. The products subject to the order in question are currently classified under Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US subheadings 7326.20.0020 and 7323.99.9060.
