According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cut-length plate totaled 27,968 mt in March 2020, up 27.2 percent from February but down 25.2 percent from March 2019 levels. By value, cut-length plate imports totaled $21.6 million in March 2020, compared to $16.2 million in the previous month and $33.5 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most cut-length plate from Canada in March, with 13,384 mt, compared to 12,159 mt in February and 7,972 mt in March 2019. Other top sources of imported cut-length plate in March include Korea, with 9,584 mt; and Belgium, with 1,836 mt.
