According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 74,545 mt in February 2020, up 6.9 percent from January and up 24.1 percent from February 2019 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $72.8 million in February, compared to $67.7 million in the previous month and $85.0 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in February with 39,223 mt, compared to 32,960 mt in January and 33,036 mt in February 2019. Other top destinations included Canada, with 29,952 mt; and China, with 2,759 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut-length plate exports in February.
