According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 58,890 mt in April 2019, up 13.5 percent from March but down 24.9 percent from April 2018 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $69.7 million in April, compared to $61.9 million in the previous month and $82.1 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in April with 34,337 mt, compared to 31,171 mt in March and 31,415 mt in April 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 16,972 mt; Brazil, with 1,718 mt; China, with 1,590 mt; and Chile, with 1,293 mt.
