According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 61,534 mt in October 2018, up 0.6 percent from September but down 40.4 percent from October 2017 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $69.2 million in October, compared to $69.9 million in the previous month and $96.4 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in October with 37,659 mt, compared to 35,232 mt in September and 44,979 mt in October 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 21,211 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut-length plate exports in October.
