US cut-length plate exports rise 10.5 percent in January

US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strips totaled 99,092 mt in January, up 10.5 percent from December and up 24.7 percent from January 2016 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $82.7 million in January, compared to $72.2 million in the previous month and $70.3 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Canada in January, with 49,977 mt, compared to 50,422 mt in December and 39,820 mt in January 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 47,166 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US cut-length plate exports in January.
