US cut-length plate exports down 10.1 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 61,192 mt in September 2018, down 10.1 percent from August and down 29.6 percent from September 2017 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $69.9 million in September, compared to $74.7 million in the previous month and $83.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in September with 35,232 mt, compared to 38,217 mt in August and 34,137 mt in September 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 21,387 mt; and China, with 2,021 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut-length plate exports in September.
