US cut-length plate exports up 4.3 percent in January

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 83,577 mt in January 2023, up 4.3 percent from December and up 8.9 percent from January 2022. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $134.1 million in January, compared to $136.5 million in the previous month and $141.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in January with 51,621 mt, compared to 52,013 mt in December and 40,904 mt in January 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 28,648 mt; and Sweden, with 1,016 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut-length plate exports in January.
