US CRC imports up 4.2 percent in June

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled sheets totaled 118,075 mt in June 2019, up 4.2 percent from May but down 12.2 percent from June 2018 levels. By value, CRC imports totaled $98.5 million in June 2019, compared to $94.2 million in the previous month and $111.7 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most CRC from Canada in June, with 35,693 mt, compared to 30,979 mt in May and 32,969 mt in June 2018. Other top sources of imported CRC in June include Vietnam, with 16,956 mt; Australia, with 16,302 mt; United Kingdom, with 8,201 mt; and Korea, with 7,413 mt.
