US CRC imports down 7.5 percent in November

According to delayed final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled sheets totaled 132,285 mt in November 2018, down 7.5 percent from October and down 9.2 percent from November 2017 levels. By value, CRC imports totaled $114.9 million in November 2018, compared to $122.9 million in the previous month and $118.9 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most CRC from Vietnam in November, with 25,748 mt, compared to 22,728 mt in October. Other top sources of imported CRC in November include Canada, with 24,387 mt; Australia, with 13,805 mt; Korea, with 13,364 mt; Mexico, with 13,118 mt; and Netherlands, with 6,837 mt.
