US CRC exports up 9.1 percent in January

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold rolled sheets totaled 44,832 mt in January 2019, up 9.1 percent from December and up 2.3 percent from January 2018 levels. By value, CRC exports totaled $50.1 million in January, compared to $45.0 million in the previous month and $49.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most CRC to Mexico in January with 28,952 mt, compared to 28,625 mt in December and 25,205 mt in January 2018. Other top destinations included Canada, with 13,601 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US CRC exports in January.
