US CRC exports up 16.5 percent in August

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold rolled sheets totaled 47,921 mt in August 2018, up 16.5 percent from July but down 15.1 percent from August 2017 levels. By value, CRC exports totaled $56.3 million in August, compared to $45.9 million in the previous month and $59.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most CRC to Mexico in August with 27,791 mt, compared to 27,578 mt in July and 35,171 mt in August 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 18,744 mt. There were no other major destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US CRC exports in August.
