US CRC exports rise 21.9 percent in January

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold rolled sheets totaled 43,810 mt in January 2018, up 21.9 percent from December but down 10.3 percent from January 2017 levels. By value, CRC exports totaled $49.5 million in January, compared to $38.6 million in the previous month and $50.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most CRC to Mexico in January with 25,205 mt, compared to 23,254 mt in December and 28,738 mt in January 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 17,344 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US CRC exports in January.
