US cold rolled strip exports drop 9.3 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold rolled strip totaled 15,831 mt in September, down 9.3 percent from August and down 3.9 percent from September 2016 levels. By value, cold rolled strip exports totaled $21.9 million in September, compared to $24.4 million in the previous month and $21.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cold rolled strip to Canada in September with 10,084 mt, compared to 10,609 mt in August and 10,905 mt in September 2016. Other destinations included Mexico, with 4,983 mt. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) for US export cold rolled strip in September.
