US cold finished bar exports up 25.8 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold finished bar totaled 9,951 mt in March 2020, up 25.8 percent from February and up 32.6 percent from March 2019 levels. By value, cold finished bar exports totaled $23.5 million in March, compared to $17.5 million in the previous month and $19.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cold finished bar to Mexico in March with 4,760 mt, compared to 3,722 mt in February and 3,149 mt in March 2019. Other top destinations included Canada, with 4,052 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cold finished bar exports in March.
