US cold finished bar exports down 3.2 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold finished bar totaled 7,259 mt in April 2019, down 3.2 percent from March and down 34.1 percent from April 2018 levels. By value, cold finished bar exports totaled $19.2 million in April, compared to $19.5 million in the previous month and $23.1 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cold finished bar to Mexico in April with 3,346 mt, compared to 3,149 mt in March and 2,933 mt in April 2018. Other destinations include Canada, with 2,841 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cold finished bar exports in April.
