US Can can’t go wrong with first quarter earnings

US Can on Tuesday, May 17, reported that its first quarter net sales rose 8% year on year to $230.4 million. The company posted gross profit of $32 million compared to $19.4 million in Q1 of 2004. US Can attributed their excellent earnings to things such as increased aerosol and plastics products volume, cost reduction programs, and better pricing as a result of higher raw materials costs. US Can Corporation is a top manufacturer of steel containers for personal care, household, automotive, and other uses in the United States and Europe.
