US auto sales fall 12.1 percent in October

US auto sales totaled 1,329,802 units in October 2017, a decrease of 12.1 percent compared to September sales and an increase of 6.1 percent compared to October 2016. Year-to-date, US auto sales totaled 13,957,767 units for the first 10 months of 2017, reflecting a 1.6 percent decrease compared to the same period of 2016.

The top selling brands in October were General Motors, with 252,813 units; Ford Motor Co., with 199,698 units; Toyota Motor Sales USA, with 188,434 units; Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, with 154,513 units; and American Honda, with 127,353 units.
