US and Canadian steel service center shipments rise in April

Steel service center shipments in the US and Canada showed healthy growth across the board in April, according to a report today from the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI).

US service center steel shipments, in April 2018, increased by 13.0 percent from April 2017. Steel inventories increased by 8.5 percent from a year ago levels.

Canadian service center steel shipments, in April 2018, increased by 14.8 percent from April 2017. Steel inventories decreased by 5.1 percent from a year ago levels.
