February steel service center shipments continued their January increase in the US and Canada, while inventory positions deteriorated slightly across the board, according to a report from the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI).
US service center steel shipments in February 2018 increased 5.2 percent from February 2017. Steel product inventories increased 5.4 percent from February 2017.
Canadian service center shipments of steel products in February 2018 increased by 4.8 percent from February 2017. Steel product inventories decreased 1.9 percent from February a year ago.
