US steel service center shipments stable in September

September steel service center shipments were flat on a year-over-year basis, according to a report today from the Metal Service Center Institute (MSCI).

US steel service center shipments in September 2017 were essentially unchanged from September 2016. Steel product inventories increased 2.4 percent from September a year ago, the first year-on-year increase since August 2015.

Canadian service center shipments of steel products in September 2017 decreased by 3.8 percent from September 2016. Steel product inventories increased 4.2 percent from September a year ago and decreased 1.7 percent from last month.
