US and Canadian rig counts see week-on-week increases

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending October 26, the US rotary rig count increased by one to 1,068 rigs following a four-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 193 while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by two to 875. The overall rig count is now up by 159 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by nine to 200 rigs in the week ending October 26, following a four-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by nine rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
