Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 4, the US rotary rig count remained unchanged at 650 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by three to 130, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by three to 519. The overall rig count is now up by 247 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by seven to 217 rigs in the week ending March 4. The Canadian rig count is now up by 76 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
