Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending November 17 the US rotary rig count increased by eight to 907 rigs following a nine-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by eight to 177 while the number of rigs drilling for oil remained level at 738. The overall rig count is now up by 327 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by five to 208 rigs in the week ending November 17 following an 11-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 24 rigs from the same week a year ago.
