Baker Hughes has reported that for the shortened holiday week ending November 22 the US rotary rig count increased by eight to 923 rigs following an eight-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 176 while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by nine to 747. The overall rig count is now up by 330 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by seven to 215 rigs in the week ending November 22 following a five-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 41 rigs from the same week a year ago.
