Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending July 13, the US rotary rig count increased by two to 1,054 rigs following a five-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by two to 189 while the number of rigs drilling for oil remained stable at 863. The overall rig count is now up by 102 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 15 to 197 rigs in the week ending July 13, following a 10-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by six rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
