Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending February 22, the US rotary rig count decreased by four to 1,047 rigs following a two-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas remained level at 194, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by four to 853. The overall rig count is now up by 69 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 12 to 212 rigs in the week ending February 22, following a 16-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 94 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
